Chapter History
The Bartow Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on September 17, 1930, in Bartow, Florida, with 19 active members. The initial meeting was held at the home of Emma Hearn Askew. Bartow’s first regent was Nell Hathcock Leifeste. She was the sister of the Florida State Society DAR State Regent, Mrs. John Leonard. The historical, educational and patriotic activities of the chapter reflect the objects set forth by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
